The conference venue, the University of Hohenheim, is on the outskirts of Stuttgart and thus somewhat removed from the city center. There are a number of choices for hotels that can be booked via the conference website or the following link:

Hotel recommendations

The Dormero Hotel Stuttgart and the adjacent SI-Suites are located between the university and the city center and  directly at Stuttgart’s venue for musicals (SI-Centrum), which also includes a large cinema, a casino, and a „wellness oasis". The university is reached by tramway in 9 min (only one stop between the hotel and university) and the city center in 22 min (1 change of trains). 

The Mövenpick Hotel Stuttgart Airport is a nice hotel just opposite the terminal and thus easily reached for those arriving by plane. From the hotel, university can be reached by taxi (ca. 10 min) or bus (ca. 15 min, 1 change of busses). The city center can be reached in 27 min by train.

For those who wish to stay in the city center, which offers more opportunities for the evenings, there are a couple of hotels near the train station. During the time of the conference, there is also a wine festival in the city center.

Hotels near the train station (transfer from the train station to the university takes ca. 30 min by tramway or tramway and bus) include:

Motel One (Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof, there is another one in Feuerbach, which is too far away from the university) is a nice hotel in the city center, but it cannot be booked via the link above and booking does therefore not include a ticket for public transportation.

But it is possible to obtain a 3-day ticket for € 12 when staying at any hotel. A day-ticket for public transportation (city center to university) is € 6,60 and a single trip is € 2,80. See for further information regarding public transportation in Stuttgart.

There are some less expensive hotels, such as Hotel Unger and Hotel Rieker near the train station as well as some five star hotels, such as Althoff Hotel Am Schlossgarten and Hotel Steigenberger Graf Zeppelin.
